New Through the Truth

22Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; 24for ‘All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25but the word of the Lord remains forever.’ And this word is the good news that was preached to you.” – 1 Peter 1:22-25 (ESV)

I have been given such a great opportunity. I am able to abide in the “word of God”, which was made possible by my “obedience to the truth” and being “purified” and “born again”.

When I accepted Christ as my personal savior, I was forgiven of all that I had done and all will do and was added to the roll as a child of God. I was made New and whole through my belief and obedience to the Truth.

I am not, nor will I ever be, better than anyone else, as I am a sinner just the same. What I am is a new person with a guiding principle that is Jesus Christ. I have been given the chance to make lasting impact on those around me as I serve them through the service to God.

Are you able to say that you are new again? How did your newness come? Were you made new through your “obedience to the truth”?
