“17Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds…21assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him as the truth is in Jesus. 25Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.” – Ephesians 4:17, 21, & 25 (ESV)
Wherever I was, I have the opportunity to be new again through the truth that is and is in Jesus Christ. I have been granted the chance to start a new life.
With this new life, there are some conditions that may be difficult. The first of which is as seen in verse 25 to “put away falsehood” and “speak the truth”. Taking an honest approach to all is the one of the beginning actions with this new life. The truth, as stated, will set you free, and in Christ that is such a true statement. There is nothing better than knowing that there is nothing for me to justify or reason, when I speak the truth. I have found a number of occasions where I have been called out for something said or done and when I simply admit to it, there are no more questions. In fact, the next statement has been something like, “your not going to deny it?”. With that there is no more to discuss and the resolution is quickly administered.
Thanks to the grace given to me by Jesus, I have been able to live a new life in truth that has granted me the peace to know I can simply move on with the next task in the plan God has for me.
“32Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32 (ESV)
I am able to live this verse each and every day, thanks to that new life in truth God has given me.
When you look at your life, would you categorize it as a new life? Are you living in the truth provided you through Jesus Christ? Is your life new in that truth?
