Fellowship is in the Light

A few months ago I was studying the word “darkness” just as a few weeks ago, I am again at a passage I studied then as I study “light”.

5This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” – 1 John 1:5 & 7 (ESV)

I find and commune with God in the light. When I am in need, He provides the light for my comfort. He is there with me as I go, not just to nudge me along. I am grateful for His fellowship.

It is in the light that I find that fellowship with Him. And it is in the light that I find fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ. We see each other, warts and all, and love each other in spite of them. There, in the light we do not hide, we are open and transparent for all to see, knowing that the love of Christ is with us, shining on us, and comforting us.

When commune and fellowship, is it done in the light? What difficulties and deceptions have you found in the darkness? How much more comforting is it to fellowship in the light?
