“7Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, 8and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.” – Revelation 13:7-8 (ESV)
We are all set………to be persecuted. We will be beat down. We will be “conquered”. Satan was given authority to do his bidding.
But……….we were provided the way out. We were given the way to escape: enrollment in the Lambs Book of Life. Written in the Lambs Book of Life gives us protection against worshiping the conqueror and being cast into the lake of fire (ESV Commentary).
When we have eternal life, we may be conquered physically, but spiritually we are safe. We are able to worship and keep our eyes and heart on God regardless of the persecution we are experiencing.
