“32And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways. 33Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. 34Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. 35For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord, 36But he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.” – Proverbs 8:32-36 (ESV)
This passage is spoken from the perspective of Wisdom, as is all of Proverbs 8.
When we are heeding Wisdom, we are blessed, find favor from the Lord, and find life (ESV Commentary).
So what does it look like to find life? Well, we are no longer looking for where we belong. We are able to proceed with purpose. We end up making fewer damaging choices. We are able to move forward instead of looking back to see if something is going to catch up with us.
I look for ways to move on and not dwell on things from before. Wisdom gives me that freedom. I will be able to proceed with confidence and remove worry.
Where are you as relates to Wisdom? Are you able to look forward with purpose? Are you finding Wisdom leads to your finding life?
