When we are going through this thing we call life, we have options as to what to do and how to do them.
“1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noise gong or a clanging cymbal. 2And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge…but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give away all I have…but have not love, I gain nothing.” – 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (ESV)
Chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians is titled “The Way of Love” in my ESV Bible. You can see in the above verses that without love, we are really nothing at all. No matter how “good” we are, without love, “nothing” is what surfaces.
“13So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13 (ESV)
We have to choose love in all that we do. When we are engaged in business, choose to let love abide. When we are engaged with our family and friends, choose to let love abide. When engaged in difficult situations and adversity, choose to let love abide.
