We are in a place that can only be covered by love, and God provides that love for us.
“5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” – Romans 5:5-6 (ESV)
I am amazed every time that I read God’s Word as he teaches me or reminds me of something each time I sit down with Him. You see in the verses above that God’s love is for all, through the Holy Spirit, and Jesus died as a demonstration of that love.
What a great love it is that the Trinity is involved. We are blessed to have God in our lives and providing for us. But it was not just a one-time present. Yes, Jesus died once, but the Holy Spirit continues to pour that love into our hearts daily. And God is always there to continue filling up the bucket of love so that it never, and I mean never, runs out. You see, God gives us what (love), when we need it (the right time).
“13…but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 (ESV)
No matter what else God can give to us, we should remember that the greatest gift he provides for us is love. We are to store it away in our hearts and show it to everyone.
When you are working your way through life, how much are you thinking of the love God has for you? Are we able to abide in that love and show it to everyone? Are we understanding that God gives, the Holy Spirit pours it in us, and Jesus demonstrated love?
