Lift The LORD up in Praise

I believe that too often, we expect things from others and yet do not provide an example for them to model after. God is not that way and it is important for me to use Him as the example as I progress through this world.

God provides for me as he is proud of me. I do His work and I can, in my mind and heart, see Him sitting on the throne just smiling with a glorious look on His face, the same as I do when I learn of something done by my boys. I can see Him in circles in heaven, talking up what He saw and praising the work that was done. I have to remember that image everyday and reciprocate it right back at Him.

1Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!

2Serve the LORD with gladness!

Come into his presence with singing!

3Know that the LORD, he is God!

It is he who made us, and we are his;

we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4Enter his gates with thanksgiving,

and his courts with praise!

Give thanks to him; bless his name!

5For the LORD is good;

his steadfast love endures forever,

and his faithfulness to all generations.” — Psalm 100 (ESV)

I happen to be writing this morning on Good Friday. This is the day that Jesus was crucified. What a great day for me to praise Him for what He has done for me. I have to let it known that God sent His Son to die for me. I can just see Him in heaven beaming and talking it up and heaping praise to Jesus for doing just that. I have to model that example of what I see and throw additional praise to Him for the actions done to save me.

Praise is not just for today and at those significant events. It is for all time. I have to heap praise at all times on God for the work that He has done in my life. I have to lift Him up just as He lifts me up.

What are your thoughts on heaping praise on God? Are you only in the act of doing so when He does something significant in your life? What if you praised Him continually as He demonstrates with you?
