Those Given Authority Will Reign

I have been chosen by God. I have been adopted by Him. I am an heir to heaven. I have the opportunity to be given authority by God. I only need accept, and use His authority for His glory. And that may mean I am treated unfairly and poorly here in this world. But:

“⁴Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” — Revelation 20:4 (ESV)

Here I see that the martyrdom has been and will continue. And that it is not and was not just me that was impacted, there were many before and many that will come after me, and therefore a precedent and an example. I have to remember that I am not and was not alone. I am loved by God and chosen by Him. I am His and He will protect and care for me in all. I will reign regardless of what goes on in this world.

Jesus came to die for me so that I may have eternal life. And what am I to do with that life, honor and glorify Him through the spreading of His word regardless of the situation or circumstance and know that He will care for my all in all. I have been given the authority to do so and therefore I should be using that authority.

I may be persecuted for even knowing God and more so for exercising the authority given to me, and I should look to have that heaped on me knowing that I am doing right and will be protected and rewarded. Regardless of the consequences faced here in this world, it is not here that I am looking to find reward, it is in heaven seated with Jesus.
