Jesus in Authority to Set Things Right

God raised Jesus from the dead and set to the position of authority.

20that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,” – Ephesians 1:20 (ESV)

Jesus was brought to our world to bring salvation to us all, all that would receive the gift. And during this time, God was continuing to work in and through Him. Jesus preached and taught with the purpose of setting us up with those that would continue His work, the disciples. And then He was lead to death and raised join God, His Father in the position of authority over all.

21far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,” – Ephesians 1:21-22 (ESV)

And not only what Jesus put in authority over all, but all that was, is, and is to come. Jesus was set to have authority over everything and as such was there to set everything right were it was to be. He was there to, as noted in my NIV commentary, “set their broken world right”. Our world was broken and is still broken as we are in it now. Jesus is there to make it right and whole again. He is the one we should be looking to for guidance. We should be seeking His counsel and His advice and His leadership to move forward and do what is right in this world.

Where are you looking to get things right? Are you seeking the counsel of those around you? What if we looked to Jesus, the one that was raised to the position to oversee everything?
